1 Year Of Ruxolitinib

It’s been a year since I’ve been prescribed Ruxolitinib (Jakavi) for GVHD of the skin. My skin and joint pain have continued to improve over the months. I have been able to discontinue a few medications as well. I no longer need Sirolimus and I’m currently down to 1mg of Prednisone, soon to be 0! This is a huge milestone for me. I can’t remember a time taking so few medications and I feel great. I never thought this day would come.

I can once again point my toes, sit cross legged, put weight on my wrists. The list goes on. I still have some dark pigmentation but this could also be due to the fact that I am starting to age. I turned 30 this year. The year of Covid hasn’t been all bad. I’m so grateful to still have my job during this pandemic. I feel safe in my current environment. My family and friends have remained safe and healthy. With the Covid vaccine becoming available, I have hopes that this world will return to its new normal very soon.

  1. Hey Dear Friend,

Wow… soooooo great to hear the awesome news. Feeling really happy that you are shining so bright after a crazy, challenging and painful journey! May you continue to heal and may you continue to find joy in this precious life you have been given!

I am getting to a major milestone in completing a memoir of Deb Hubsmith’s life. It’s been a monumental research and writing project but also a cathartic one in many ways.

I’m so happy you are alive and doing so well. I hope your journey will continue to inspire others that have found themselves in a similar place.

    Rock on Candace!!!!

    Andy
