The Best Day Of 2014

Yesterday was Sunday which means sleeping in and relaxing by the pool. I put on a swimsuit for the first time this year and actually went in the pool! It’s already 78! My Aunt Barb stopped by to visit and bring me a gift. She bought me and iPad, best Aunt ever! It’s going to be perfect for my transplant stay at the hospital.
My sister got home from work and we had planned to go to Menchies for a frozen yogurt. We went around 6:30 as Kelsey was rushing me out the door for some reason.

We sat and enjoyed our treats as people starred at my head. On our way home we were pulling down my street and I noticed 2 cars parked on the street that looked just like my friend’s cars! I walked up to my house and noticed people in the backyard, that’s when it clued in.

I ran into my backyard to find a big “Surprise” and all of my closest girlfriends sitting around a table full of wine and snacks. I can’t even explain how I felt in that moment. I started to ball of course and there wasn’t a dry eye around the table. My sister had planned the whole thing for me and she invited my new friend Maddie that I met through the hospital. I can’t believe she came, I can only hope she knows how much that meant to me.
I’m so lucky to have such amazing friends supporting me throughout this journey. I’m so happy I was able to see everyone before I go in for my transplant. The best day of this year by far! I fell asleep that night with the biggest smile on my face!
